There is nothing quite like those first days and weeks following the birth of a new baby, and we love sharing in those special moments and taking beautiful photographs that can be enjoyed and looked back on for years to come.
The best time to capture those beautiful and sleepy dream like poses is within the first 7-10 days after birth whilst the baby is still very relaxed and not very active. This allows the baby to be posed for the gorgeous newborn portrait photographs that we all love.
After a week or two, it is very common for a baby to become active making it difficult to pose the baby, and often slight skin blemishes start to appear. Though after 2 – 3 months the baby can start smiling and showing personality in the photographs.
We have a wide selection of posing props including a minature ‘shabby chic’ bed and a variety of blankets, headwear and outfits. Alternative we can take simple classic, newborn portraits on a black or white background, or being held by the parents in a variety of poses.
We recommend that the baby is well fed and kept warm, as a newborn portrait photography session will usually last 1-2 hours. It is advisable to book these sessions provisionally well before the due date, and we will then adjust the sitting to a time after the actual delivery that suits you.
Feel free to get in touch and discuss how we work and your requirements.
