We love photographing weddings, but this really was a lovely and personal wedding to photograph. Every little touch was personal to Christina and Adam, and things they love!
If you love all things vintage, then have a look at this beautiful vintage inspired wedding with a ‘Lovely Jubbly!’ twist we recently photographed.
Christina and Adam wanted two photographers to capture their wedding, so that they could get coverage of both the bridal and groom preparation, two aspects in the church (one photographer at the front and the second photographer at the back of the church) and lots of natural photos of their guests as well as the posed photo’s they had asked for.
Bridal preparations were at Christina’s parents’ home, where she had grown up. Christina’s Mum helped her get ready into a beautiful vintage lace, three-quarter length dress and stunning open toe shoes with crystal embellished butterflies. Christina’s bridesmaids were her closest friends and her sister. They wore beautiful dusky pink, knee length dresses and beautiful hand tied rose bouquets.
Adam is a massive ‘Only Fools & Horses’ fan and Christina had arranged for a three-wheeler van and a ‘Del Boy’ lookalike turn up while Adam, his father and groomsmen were getting ready, to take them to the church… well the pub actually! The Bell pub is opposite St Mary’s church in Woodham Ferrers, so the groomsmen and guests went for a quick ‘chateauneuf du pape’ before the ceremony.
The beautiful church has stood at the heart of the community for over 750 years, and the wonderfully historic building is set back from the road at the top of the hill in Woodham Ferrers.
The wedding reception was held at The Bull in Great Totham. The Bull is an award winning, 16th century coaching inn tucked away in the beautiful Essex village. The grounds at The Bull are beautiful and were ‘perfick’ as Del Boy would say, for photographing the bride & groom and their wedding party. The sun was shining and the guests were enjoying casual conversation whilst enjoying reception drinks on the lawn. We photographed natural and the posed photographs that Christina and Adam had asked for and then it was time to go inside for their speeches and wedding breakfast.
The table theme was quotes from ‘Only Fools & Horses’ which was in keeping with the rest of the day. This was a real talking point for the guests, were they on the ‘mange tout’, ‘this time next year…!’ or the ‘he who dears…wins!’ table?
Christina and Adam had a custom vintage inspired wedding cake, which co-ordinated with the colours of the flowers from the bouquets. They were clearly emotional and their happiness was evident as they cut the cake and took their seats at their table (‘Lovely Jubbly!’) ready for the speeches.
In true Del Boy style, the speeches were heartfelt but put a smile on everyone’s face, and after a lovely meal, everyone was ready to dance the night away and enjoy the party!!
All the hard work and little details came together to make for a truly beautiful day… and we were honoured to be able to share such a special time with Christina and Adam.
