Bloomwood Photography is a family run photography business, based in Rochford (near Southend) and offering photography services across Essex and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on having the highest standards and aim to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.
We offer the professionalism of a large company, whilst delivering a boutique, personal touch in the work that we do.
We offer a diverse range of photography services, but specialise in wedding photography and portraits of babies, children, and families. We take what we do very seriously as often there is only one opportunity to capture beautiful images that can be kept forever, and we use the latest equipment, are fully insured, CRB checked and members of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.
Because we take photography seriously, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be fun too! In fact that is one of the most important factors in getting beautifully natural photographs! The fact that we enjoy what we do comes across in our photography and makes the people that we photograph feel more comfortable and at ease.

Hi, I’m Emma.
I eat, sleep, dream photography!
Do you ever stop and look at something that catches your eye and think ‘that would make a great photo?’ I do… in fact I do it all day, every day! I have been a keen photographer for many years, but have been lucky enough to turn my passion into my profession.
I love looking at photographs that bring back great memories, and knowing that’s what I do for other people is really rewarding. Taking photos is great, but the best part of what I do is spending time with people and sharing their special moments… a wedding day, the early days of a newborn baby, or family party.
Hi, I’m Ross.
I like to think I’m the boss… but Emma reminds me otherwise regularly!
Having caught the photography bug from Emma, I’m rarely found without a camera nearby! I’ve been Emma’s second photographer for weddings over the last six years. I love getting to know couples and mingling with their guests to capture natural shots of the day.
I enjoy keeping my photography fun and light-hearted as that’s when I get the most relaxed and natural shots. But I also like experimenting with creative use of flash and light to get unique ‘wow’ shots.
Being a good photographer is not just about taking photos… it’s about having fun and making people feel at ease. It should be as though people forget that you are there.
