This spectacular romantic photo shoot all came together for a styling day with some of Essex’s  top wedding suppliers and two amazing models, which to say are in love is an understatement!

Capturing the romance with stunning flowers and beautiful soft furnishings, this luxurious home set in the Essex countryside was the perfect place for this photo shoot.

The love and togetherness of this couple was clear to see. Our beautiful model Kirsty wore her stunning wedding dress by Ronald Joyce, her long hair had romantic soft curls and her beautiful romantic and endearing makeup was perfect for this photo shoot. Our other model Sam was clean shaven with a short and funky hairstyle and looked very dapper in his dinner suit and bow tie.

Kirsty’s make up was styled by the very talented makeup artist Elaine Marie Buckley, and this is what she said about Kirsty’s beautiful look:

“As a makeup artist I wanted to implement a real romantic and endearing feel to the makeup. Kirsty has such beautiful features and I wanted the makeup to just be alluring and used to enhance her already stunning beauty. I created shape and structure to the eyes using warm eye shadow tones and a beautiful pink champagne pigment across the eyelid to bring the eyes out, this kept everything fresh without going too strong, and it also complimented the soft colours and tones in the bouquet.

One of my favourite eyeliner looks is the “elongated” eyeliner; it adds a beautiful shape and dimension and added a lovely frame around her eyes. I kept the skin fresh and flawless by lightly contouring with subtle highlights, giving that ‘within glow’.

For the last look which is one of my favourites. I applied a red lipstick which was so complimentary to the whole look and style and oozes romance!”

Kirsty’s hair style was created by Elaine Zulewski from Right & Fine Hair Design who explained how she approached the look:

“When I met Kirsty, I was amazed at how long her hair was. I curled all of her hair using my Babyliss wand. Once her hair had cooled, I ran my fingers through her hair to give the curls volume and make it look less set. I then added texture spray. Kirsty has beautiful tones of blonde to her hair and this type of hair always looks amazing plaited. I did two fishtail braids and joined them and then fixed the rest of the curls in place. To finish this soft romantic style I added some crystal hair slides, which went beautifully with Kirsty’s beautiful wedding dress.”

When asked if I wanted to photograph this stylised shoot, I didn’t need to think twice. I’ve worked with the very talented Elaine Marie several times and her flawless makeup is amazing! I hadn’t worked with Elaine from Right & Fine Hair Design before but I’d seen her work and loved her style, so couldn’t wait to collaborate with her.

The setting can contribute immensely to the overall mood of the photos and this light and airy luxurious home set in the Essex countryside was perfect. I wanted the photos to be romantic, but natural and show the love between this couple.

I used a wide aperture lens to let lots of light in to the camera.  This helped to get a soft feel to the images whilst showing the subtle details of the hair and makeup.  The models were lit by natural daylight and off camera flash rather than using fixed studio lighting.  This made for a more relaxed and natural feel when setting up each pose, and is the same set up that I would often use for a real wedding.

The photos were minimally edited to keep the actual feel from the day, and here are a selection of our favourites…
